

He was saved at an early age at Cedar Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Thorn Hill, and was a member of Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Washburn.
He retired from Magnavox after 33 years as a cabinet maker. Went to trade school to become a barber and gave haircuts to the children of Kingswood School for many years, which gave him much enjoyment. After retiring, he became the first Road Superintendent of the City of Bean Station. In 2021, he had a trail in the City Park dedicated in his honor for his loyal service to the Grainger County Community, the city of Bean Station and the development of the park itself.
Benard was preceded in death by his parents: Tilman and Pearl Dalton; siblings: Horace Dalton, Bentley Dalton, Zelma Fry, Oakie Beeler, Tom Dalton and Maddie Jane Clapp.
He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Faye Dalton; son: Benard Bryan Dalton, Jr.; daughter: Rebecca Dalton Parker and fiancee' Robby Thomas. Grandchildren: Luke Dalton, wife, Megan; Erin Dalton, Caleb Parker, wife, Kasey. Great grandchildren: Canaan Parker and Judson Dalton. Sister: Jean England.
A receiving of friends will be held on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025 at Stubblefield Funeral Home from 2:00 until 4:00 pm.
