Bertha Louise Buddenbohn Gilliam, age 76, of Whitesburg, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015. She was born on July 9, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Arundel High School in 1956. She loved to knit, crochet, quilt, garden, and can. She also loved her roses and all her dogs. She enjoyed camping with her late husband and going to Dollywood. Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Gilliam; father, Louis John Buddenbohn Sr; mother, Louise Josephine Goedeke Buddenbohn Mason; step-father, Bob Edward Mason Sr; and half-brother, Bob Edward Mason Jr.
Survivors include her son, Mark L. Gilliam; special sisters, Alice (George) Andrzejewski of MD and Betty Jones of VA; siblings, Louis “Peanut” Buddenbohn of MD, Peggy Rundle of MD, and Thomas Buddenbohn of MA; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Odenton, MD on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Scott McDonald officiating. Local services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Morristown on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Leslie Wilder officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9:00 a.m. prior to both services.
