

Betsy (Betty) Jane Stroud age 86, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong member of Talley’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and was saved at a young age. She was employed for many years at Lee Wayne Knitting Mill, Mohawk Furniture and Lee Industries.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Clifford and Mary Fletcher, husband: J.T. Stroud, brothers: John Hull, Robert Fletcher and Bill Fletcher, sisters: Wanda Pool and Irma Fletcher. She is survived by four sons: Henry (Joyce) Stroud of Morristown, Ron (Rita) Stroud, Allen (Marie) Stroud and Ed (Shirley) Stroud all of Whitesburg. One daughter, Margaret (Randy) Brewster of Gray. She had five granddaughters and one grandson, ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 12th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 7 with the Reverends Dixie Miller and Roy Dalton officiating. The family will meet at Stubblefield Funeral Home on Monday, April 13th, at 9:30 a.m. to go in procession to Creech’s Chapel Cemetery for a 10 a.m. burial.
