Betty Jewell Purkey, age 74, of Mooresburg, went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul T Purkey; parents, Clay and Hannah Short; five brothers and one sister. Survivors include her children, Nancy (Bob) Grooms, Linda (David) Stapleton, Chris (Brenda) Purkey, Jeannie Purkey, Ilene (Lynn) Delph; grandchildren, April, Marsha, Tanya, Brent, Jessica, Tyler, Brianna, Christopher, Weston, Whitney, and Austin; great-grandchildren, Katilyn, Kasie, Hannah, Olivia, Andrew, Ryan, and Madeline; three sisters; two brothers; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Harris and Rev. Roger Porter officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Rogersville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
