CHARLES “JOSH” SUMPTER, age 67, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2011, at his residence. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. He was a self employed plumber and he also loved fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; Carlos Ray and Lola Holt Sumpter. He is survived by his wife of 47 years; Loella Wolfe Sumpter, sons; Chuck Sumpter of Rogersville and Logan Sumpter of Morristown, grandchildren; Matthew Sumpter of White Pine and Ella Sumpter of Knoxville, sisters; Mary Lynn Eddy (Harley) of Silver Dale, WA and Betty Jo Rowland (Bill) of Del Rio, TN, brother; Paul Sumpter (Renee’) of Rogersville and several nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Severt will officiate. Graveside will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011 in the Hamblen Memory Gardens, family and friends will gather at the cemetery at 10:50a.m. The family of Mr. Sumpter will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
