

Chris was employed at BASF in the hosiery mill where a gentleman would sweep her off her feet and spoil her. That man was Gerald Michael Horton, became her husband and soul mate on August 30, 1975. They resided in Morristown, TN.
Chris loved her family and took much delight in family gatherings, holidays, or whatever occasion that required cooking. There were always a silent competition of whose dishes were the best, which would leave a trail of empty casserole dishes, cake pans, pie plates and many a long lost tupperware containers. She often perfected such recipes with her own take. She was a member of Lakemore Church of God in Morristown.

She is survived by her children and family whom she adored,her son Robert (Carla) Lawson of Russellville, KY., daughter: be marriage, Shannon (Gregory) Childress of Kingsport, TN. 2 brothers: Paul Coffey and Wayne Coffey and 2 sisters: Gladys Carpenter and Sue (Richard) Arwood all of Morristown. 3 grandchildren by marriage several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Receiving of friends will be be Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM in East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, TN.
