Doug was a longtime member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday School. He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army, a member of the Morristown F.&A.M. Lodge #231, Kerbela Shriners & York Rite.
He is preceded in death by his parents; George T. and Martha E. Murph, brother; Bobby Murph, infant sister; Emily Lou, and sister in law; Geraldine Murph.
His survivors include his brother; Lewis Murph, special niece; Teresa Murph Smith (Chuck), and his partner of 56 years; Connie Scudder.
A visitation will be held at Stubblefield Funeral Home, located at 5421 E Andrew Johnson Highway, Morristown, TN, 37814, on November 14, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Masonic graveside service will take place at Shiloh Cemetery, 164 Combs Rd, Rutledge, TN, 37861, on November 15, 2025, at 11:00 am with Dr. Keith Mowery officiating.
