Born December 8, 1945, in Morristown, she was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eva Thompson and son, Stephen Michael Sides.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Raymond Sides Jr. and an extensive, loving family. Earleen was an accomplished executive who enjoyed a long career with IBM, a devoted mother and doting grandmother as well as a published author of a brilliantly written book, “The Thompsons, of Thompson Creek”, dedicated to her passion for family and genealogy. A native of Morristown, TN, she was so proud of her family heritage and deeply laid roots in Morristown. The researching and recounting of family stories and memories was truly joyous for her. A woman with the heart of a gypsy and a touch of wanderlust she moved around a bit over the years, always excited for new experiences. She, her husband and two children lived in Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland and Alabama, but the deep love of her hometown never waned, and she came home to spend the last several years of her life. Reconnecting with friends and family, returning to her home church, becoming a member of the local genealogy society and making many new friends were just a few of the highlights she so enjoyed.
She was so loved and will be profoundly missed.
