He served in the Army for 12 years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. For more than 30 years he was a over the road long haul truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Dora Yeary; brothers: Alvis and Doug Yeary; sisters: Thelma Brooks and Elva Williams and son: Michael Yeary.
Elza is survived by his wife of 67 years: Bernice Yeary; sons: Gary and Randall (Cristian) Yeary; grandchildren: Tyler Yeary, Eric Yeary and Patricia (Bradley) McTyre and great grandchildren: Elio McTyre and Daniel Yeary and sister: Freda Brooks.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 with Rev. Ross Woody officiating.
Family and friends will gather at 1:00 pm on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for military graveside services.
