
Eva Jackson Stinson, age 84, went peacefully to with the Lord on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. She was a member of Russellville Baptist Church, where she was a beloved Ladies Sunday School teacher. Eva began her nursing career at Doctor’s Hospital in 1962 as Head of Nursing. The hospital has changed names through the years from Lakeway Regional to Humana to the current name Tennova. From Head of Nursing, she became Director of Nursing and served in various positions for over 50 years. Eva always had a serving heart and the patient care in the hospital was her top priority. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. J F and Louise Kincaid Jackson. She is survived by her two sons, Robert F. (Jan) Stinson of Talbott and John E. (Caryn) Stinson of Soddy Daisy; grandchildren, Justin (Alesha) Stinson of Olathe KS, Jennifer(Ryan) Ornelas of Austin TX, Walt (Laura) Stinson of Jefferson City; Laurel (Drew) Dameron of Nashville, Jonathan Stinson of Murfreesboro; three great-grandchildren and two more on the way; sister, Avery Daniel of Russellville; brother, Keith (Rosemary) Jackson of Morristown; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7:00 p.m. at Russellville Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 17th with a Celebration of Life Service following. Rev Gene Nelson and Rev Steve Smith will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Russellville Baptist Church Building Fund. The family would like to thank those that offered special care to Eva during her last few months. Their love and care for her was a blessing to her and her family. Services are under the direction of Stubblefield Funeral Home.
