Evelyn Bray

It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of Evelyn M. Bray, aged 87. Evelyn peacefully departed from this world on October 31, 2023, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on October 12, 1936 in Hancock County, Tennessee, she lived a life defined by love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to her family.

Evelyn, known by her maiden name Burchett, embarked on various professional paths, first as a compassionate nurse and later dedicating two decades of her life to Walmart.

Above all, Evelyn expressed a boundless love and devotion for her beloved son, Marty. Her unwavering support and selfless advocacy were a testament to the depth of her maternal love. Additionally, she possessed a special affinity for animals, exemplifying a nurturing and compassionate spirit.

Evelyn is survived by her cherished son, Roy Marty Bray, her beloved sister, Trudy Gregg, and her dear brother, John Burchett. She was preceded in death by her father, Tyler Burchett, her mother, Bessie Burchett, and her dearly missed sisters, Pearl Kinsler and Mary Burchett.

Evelyn found faith at Eastway Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her spiritual journey provided her with a sense of purpose throughout her life.

Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown, Tennessee have been entrusted to arrange a farewell for Evelyn.

The service will be held on Wednesday, November 8 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at Noon.
