

She professed faith in the Lord at an early age at Lakeshore Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life she moved her membership to Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church. After 34 years, she came back to Lakeshore. She was a devoted and faithful member of both.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Fannie Howerton, daughter: Sharyle M. Garrett, father and mother-in-law: Fred and Annabelle Dalton, brother: Junior Ray Howerton, niece: Ashley Howerton, sister-in-law: Beverly McKinney and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 57 years, William "Bill" Dalton. She was, is and always will be till eternity, the love of his life. Son and daughter-in-law: Chris and Tina Phipps Dalton. Grandchildren: Tyler Garrett, Trevor (Brock) and Miranda Garrett, and Kristina Noe all of Bean Station. Hannah (Dalton) and Joshua Johnson of Morristown. Great grandchildren: Dayson and Lakelyn Garrett, Raelyn Noe, Dalton and Hailee Johnson, Zayden and Conrad Walker. She was looking forward to seeing her next great granddaughter in November. She is to be named Evelyn, which made her so happy.
Her extended family consist of two brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law and their spouses: Gary and Karen Dalton, Lebanon, Ohio; Hank and Patsy Dalton, Thorn Hill, TN; Donna and Robert "Bob" Manning, Sandra "Sandy" Doench of Middletown, Ohio, Linda Cable, Janet Majors of Monroe, Ohio; Helen and Todd Marstellar, of York, PA. Along with a host of other family and friends she loved so much.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Robert "Bob" Davis, Rev. Tracy Clifford and Rev. C.H. Dalton officiating. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024 in the mausoleum of Hamblen Memory Gardens.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
