George met his wife of 48 years, Susan Bruga, while in the United States Navy in her hometown of Ferndale, California. They wed June 13, 1970 in the bride’s home with family and friends surrounding them.
George had a number of adventures throughout his lifetime, and an endless array of stories to tell. His and “Susie’s” latest adventure was spending winters in Florida, enjoying the warm weather and making new friends. He was a loyal husband, father, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Michelle Earl of Blountville, Tenn.,; brother, Billy Earl, and wife, Jill, of Speedwell, Tenn.,; and nephew B.J. Earl of Gray, Tenn.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22 at Adriel Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 215 Adriel Drive, Bean Station, Tenn. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to Bean Station Senior Center, 181 Dogwood Lane, Bean Station, Tennessee, 37708.
