She was preceded in death by her parents: Sam and Mary Purkey; son: Dewey Johnson; grandson: David Allen Johnson and great granddaughter: Sarah Cameron, great grandson: Troy Michael. Siblings: Kenneth Purkey, Wanda Purkey, Shirley Ward, Ann Williams, Sue Bryan, Dewey Purkey, Hugh Purkey and Dot Holt.
Geraldine is survived by her husband: Donald "Don" Sams; children: Susie (Aaron) Holt, Faye (Clifford) McSwain and Sammy Johnson. 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Brother: Ronnie Dale (Diane) Purkey and sister: Patricia Gail (Jeff) Holt. Special friends: Bill and Jenny Williams, Danny and Glenda Clark, Bob and Holly Hermans, Bobby and Joyce Couch and Erich Hicks and family. Along with many other friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be Friday, June 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Stokley officiating. Burial will follow in Big Hill Cemetery, Mooresburg, TN.
