Born on November 23rd in Lexington, KY, Gwen was a proud and devoted mother to 2 children, grandmother to 7 grandchildren and great grandmother to 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved dearly. She never missed a birthday, a graduation, or a chance to gather everyone together around the table. Her greatest joy came from her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Henry Hunter Jr., daughter: Deidre Tomlinson, grandson: Andrew Shane Hunter, and parents: Gaines and Bertha Taylor
Gwen leaves behind her son: Jeff (Debra) Hunter. Grandchildren: John Hunter, Cody (Cheyenne) Hunter, Tiffany (Derek) Wallace, Julie Hunter (Brad), Amanda (Jordan) Dailey and Oliver Tomlinson (Tanya). Great grandchildren: Aden, Brooklyn, Riley, Honor, Ian, Nova, Eli, Mia, McKinnon and Miles.
Family and friends will gather at Bent Creek Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 4th, for the graveside service with Reverend Charlie Brewer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting a flower in her memory or hanging a hummingbird feeder in your yard—a tribute to the woman who taught us how to find joy in quiet mornings, blooming roses and the company of those we love.
