Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Amelia Hopkins and Thomas McDaniel; his siblings, Thomas Earl McDaniel and Gail Waldrop; and his son, Anthony McDaniel.
He is survived by his sons, Darrell (Jo Ellen) McDaniel, Tommy Lynn McDaniel, and Harold Gene McDaniel, Jr.; and his daughters, Melanie (David) Jackson, Peggy (Wayne) Owens, and Denise (Austin) Coffey and brother Billy Wayne McDaniel.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jon McDaniel, Thomas (Ricky) McDaniel, Kristy Hunt, Leanne Carroll, Veronica Bretherick, Avery Owens, Ainsley Owens, Scarlett Coffey, Violett Coffey, and Elliett Coffey as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is Ramona McDaniel, his special friend and ex-wife with whom he shared many years of life together.
Harold's children and grandchildren will carry with them the memories they shared and the moments that became part of their family's story.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Entombment services will follow at the Prayer Mausoleum in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
