As a teenager, Jackie ranked 26th in the Nation for Archery Champions, taking after his mother who was ranked 2nd. He had a passion for woodworking and enjoyed taking care of his small chicken farm.
Preceding him in death are his parents: Henry and Beverly Barnard.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wilma Lawson Barnard; sons: Tim (Lisa) Barnard, Mike Barnard (fiance' Leann Cochran), Gary (Monica Mitchell) Barnard. Grandchildren: Chase Barnard, Tyler Barnard, Autumn Mercer and Jaydan Kirkpatrick. Great grandson: Avan Barnard and his sister: Donna Jones.
Visitation with his family will be Monday,, March 30, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12 Noon at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Tanner Mundy officiating. Burial will be in the Barnard-Winkler Cemetery, Sneedville, TN.
