
JAMES ESCO AYERS, age 63 of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was a Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his wife; Ruby Sinard Ayers and parents; James Monroe and Ella Louise Ayers. He is survived by his children; Ron Nelson of Grand Junction, CO, Rhonda Nelson of Grand Junction, CO, William (Dorothy) Ayers of Dalton, GA and Sarah (Brent) Smith of Dalton, GA, stepchildren; George (Cheryl) Barley of Grand Junction, CO, Ramona (John) Pippenger of Grand Junction, CO, Billi (Michael) Young of San Diego, CA, Dale (Denise) Nelson of Grand Junction, CO, Brenda (Freddie) Collins of Morristown, TN and Curtis (Robin) Sinard of Morristown, TN, brother; Lonnie (Jenny) Ayers of Morristown, TN, sisters; Carol Jean (James) Campbell of Dalton, GA, Ruby Jewell (Ralph) Riggs of Anderson, SC, Carrie (Glenn) Stubblefield of Morristown, TN and Patsy (Roger) Banister of Piedmont, SC, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating. Military graveside will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens with VFW Post #5266 officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
