James Lewis Bowlin

James was preceded in death by his Mother Zetta Bowlin, Father Lewis Bowlin, Sister Judy Bowlin, Brother Jerry Bowlin and Half Brother Ronald Darnell.

Those left to cherish the memories of James are his devoted Wife of 50 years Norma Sue Bowlin, Stepson Jeffrey Shortridge, Aunts Bessie Dotson and Shirley Morgan, nieces Krista (Darrell) Woodfin, Jennifer Burzell, Nephew Jason Bowlin, Great Niece Piper Burzell.

James was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mooresburg where he was a Trustee and taught Sunday School for several years. He owned Colonial Cabinet Co in Bean Station, then worked in the lab at TRW in Rogersville, and at Wolfe Realty in Morristown. James and his good friends opened Appalachian Real Estate. He then opened James Bowlin Realty until retirement. He was a talented musician and could play several instruments. James also loved animals and farming.

In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be made in honor of James to your local Animal Shelter or favorite charity.

Receiving of friends will be Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stubblefield Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 pm with Rev. Robert White officiating.
