For 45 years, James was the Evangelist of the Sunday Morning Program on WCRK. As an avid minister, he spread the word of God at many local churches and even on the corner of Main Street in Morristown.
He was a member of West View Baptist Church. His hobbies included hunting, arrowhead hunting and enjoying the outdoors, but his true love were his grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Hodge, son, Jay Hodge; parents: James and Vivian Hodge and sister: Connie Jones.
He leaves behind his son: Joel (Lorene) Hodge, grandchildren: Elijah (fiance' Sarah Tripuka), Nathan (Macy) Hodge, Brittany Cano, Tiffany VanBremen, and Makenzie VanBremen. Great grandchildren: Adam Bentley, Mark Wyatt and Sophie Wyatt.
Receiving of friends will be Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stubblefield Funeral Home, a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. David Tripuka and Rev. Travis Webb officiating.
