

Carroll was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving with the quiet strength and sense of duty that defined his generation and remained evident throughout his life.
A charter member of Morningside Baptist Church, Carroll held close the values of fellowship and commitment, offering a faithful presence within the life of his church community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Zona Ford Lane; his first wife of 53 years, Marie Lane; and second wife of 18 years, Faye Lane; sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie (Martha) Lane and David Lane; sisters, Emma Baxley and Lou Pollard; and brothers, Bill Lane and Wade Lane.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving grandchildren: Donna (Mark) Treece, Dewayne (Laura) Lane and Jennifer (Jeff) Cansler. Great grandchildren: Katie (Phillip) Drinnon, Morgan (Josh) Nida, Madison Lane, Macy Jarnigan and Hallie (Conrad) Lunsford. Great great grandchildren: Hattie Nida and Rowen Huckaby. Sister: Wanda Cowan, daughter-in-law: Marilyn Lane and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with Carroll's family will be on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Morningside Baptist Church from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 6:00 pm. Rev. Kenny Boling and Rev. Ross Woody officiating.
Military graveside and interment services will be Monday, June 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
