James “Josh” Clinton Meek of Morristown passed away on Saturday afternoon, May 3rd. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Teresa Meek; son, Brandon (Rachael) Meek; daughter, Kayla (Joel) Bowers; sisters, Zilpha “Cissy” Meek and Linda Ricker; brother-in-law, Rick Lawson; uncle, Jim McGill; nieces, Cassie Meek, Kristen Lawson, and Bridget Ricker; nephews, Frankie Lane, Jonathan Lawson, Tyler Lawson, and Eddie Ricker Jr.; grandchildren, Emerson Meek, Zoe and Zeke Bowers; great-niece, Scarlett Ball; and best friend, Carl Matthews. Josh was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn McGill Meek; father, James (Jim) Meek; sister, Jamie Meek; special cousins, Harley Johnson and Lorraine Johnson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Josh was saved at a young age at First Baptist Church Morristown. He was an extremely hard worker, spending twenty plus years employed at American Enka/BASF. Josh never met a stranger. He was a wonderful husband, father, and Poppy to his grandchildren. He loved playing with them, treating them to goodies, rocking them to sleep, and taking them on rides in his cherry-red Mustang. He was always there for them in every way. Josh was known for his practical jokes, funny nickname-giving, falsetto singing, gardening, artistry, and his skills as a mess hall chef. He enjoyed spending time at car shows, finding great deals while shopping, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He was especially fond of any event where he could serve others. Josh will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
