James David Rice, age 90, of Bean Station, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2022. He was a longtime member of Bean Station Church of God. He served in the United States Army. Preceding him in death was his wife, Edna Rice; son, Donald Rice; brothers, Harold and Francis Rice; and sister, Donna Sue Mounts.
Survivors include his grandchildren, Dennis (Cindy) Rice, Crystal (Dannie) Lamb, Michele (Roger) Bernard; great-grandchildren, Aaron Rice and Dallas Bernard; daughter-in-law, Linda Rice; brothers, Cecil (Edna) Rice, Billy (Wanda) Rice, Ronnie Rice, Darrell (Joann) Rice; special niece, Sandy Ladd; sister-in-law, Bennera Rice; longtime caregiver, Brenda Daugherty; special friend, Ula Hooker; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an entombment service at 1:00 p.m.
