
JESSIE LEONA JOHNSON WOLFE, 94 of Mooresburg, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 at St. Mary’s Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City following a short illness. Jessie was saved at the age of 15 at Paw Paw Missionary Baptist Church in Sneedville and later became a member of Pond Hill Missionary Baptist Church. After moving to Mooresburg, she faithfully attended James Chapel American Christian Church for many years. She was born on February 14, 1917 in Hancock County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Francis McCoy Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Hugh Wolfe, the love of her life, sisters and brothers; Hazel Johnson, Birdie Vaughn, Rufus Johnson, Julie Wolfe, Bessie Bowlin, Ester Scearce, Earnest Johnson, George Johnson, Claude Johnson and Ida Johnson. She is survived by her brother; Ed Johnson, sister; Joy Helton, children; Edna Wear and husband Arlie, Loretta Welch and husband Charles, Sharon Myers and husband Boyd, Donald Wolfe Jr. “Wolfe” and wife Myrna and Debbie Baird and husband David. She has 6 grandchildren; Linda Johnson, Sandy Wear, April Ellis, Adam Myers, Phillip Wolfe and Jessica Baird and 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Roberts, Rev. Tim Tipton, Rev. Roger Capps and the Rev. Boyd Myers officiating. Family and friends will meet at Stubblefield Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2011 and go in procession to Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown, Tennessee.
