I was saddened to hear of Joan's death. Her sister, Margaret, was married to my Uncle Curtis West. My mother, Betty Haynes, was his sister. I have met Joan several times in the past and was fond of her. We have communicated via FB over the years. I let my Aunt Emily West of Great Falls, and my sister, Sylvia Stevens, know of her death and they send their condolences also. We will keep your families in prayer during this time of sorrow. RIP Aunt Joan. God bless and God speed on your journey home. You will be missed here but welcomed in Heaven. I had the pleasure of meeting you during your visit to my Moms in Hammond, La. and for me to remember you by name is testament to you, your personality and your amazing charm.  Now you can see how many picky angels you can convince to eat your potato soup.........I'm sure they all will and it will be as  Heavenly Devine there as it was here.

A dear lady, a sweet friend.  I will miss her, but we will meet again.  Lady Magnolia -- she would never lose her Southern charm.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May our memories bring us comfort.

To all Joan's family:   You were so blessed to have Joan as a Mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt and sister.   She was an amazing lady, wise, witty, creative and loved to have fun and laugh with family and friends.  I loved spending time with her, and she was such a great encourager and mentor to me, always willing to give me wise advise.   I hope I never forget the example of dignity and grace that she showed especially surviving difficult challenges in life.   She was like a mom to me as well, and so present at the times that were difficult for me during losses in my family.   I am blessed I could be there for her as well.   She was so blessed to have the family she did, that cared for her during her very difficult times at the end, especially two of the most wonderful daughter - in - laws ever.
