

He was saved in May 1985. John served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country. He ran John T. Cockrum plumbing fo 30 successful years. He made many friends in the construction business. John was blessed and wanted to be a blessing to others and help when he could. He had a contagious laugh and smile that could light up a room. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Elva Cockrum Erwin.
John is survived by his loving wife of more than 55 years, Loretta Cockrum; children: Paula (Brian) Ferguson, Tommy Cockrum, Kelly (Tim) Thomas and Nathan (Erin) Cockrum. Grandchildren: Ashley (Alex) Mullins, Ethan (Acea) Ferguson, Seth Runyon, Sheyla, Jonny and Brian Cockrum. Great grandchildren: Ally and Alexander Mullins and Gabriel Ferguson.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 with Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. A military graveside service will occur on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
