

Johnny was a life long Veteran. He first served his family, friends, and country by joining the U.S. Army in 1968 and would soon take a stand in the Vietnam War. He served there as Crew Chief aboard supply airplanes and received the Air Medal for his aviation service. He was honorably discharged as an E5 Sergeant. Johnny also served a lifelong career as controller/ engineer for many TVA steam plants and was deemed a professional at his job.
As he entered retirement, golf, mowing, landscaping, and caring for others would soon take over. Johnny
was a wonderful and caring son, he was a cherished brother, and he was “Uncle Johnny” to so many of us. He had numerous friends and was loved by everyone.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Maudie Rosenbalm; sister, Carolyn Ann Rosenbalm; brother, Curtis “Sonny” Rosenbalm; sister, June Rosenbalm Baker; sister & brother-in-law, Christine & Bill Moore, & brother-in-law, Melvin Northern.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Northern; brother, Carrol “Buzz” Rosenbalm; niece, Susan Northern Stover; niece, Tammie Moore, nephew, Scott (Kathryn) Moore; niece, Donna Rosenbalm Ricker; nephew, Jimmy (Jorita) Rosenbalm; nephew, Chad (Kathy) Baker; nephew, Craig (Maria) Baker; and many other great nieces & great nephews.
The family extends a special “thank you” to Ms. Pat Proffitt for her excellent caregiving over the last few years.
Military and Graveside funeral services will take place at Heath Chapel Cemetery in Bean Station, TN on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 11:00am. Dr. Mel Hawkins and David Long officiating.
