Katie Jean Dixon, age 76, of Bean Station, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was a member of Morristown Baptist Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dixon; grandson, Lynn “Little Man” Spence; sons, James Dixon and Marshall Dixon; brothers, Frank Cupp, Junior Cupp, George Cupp; and sisters, Louise Jefferson and Ida Eidson. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Hugh) Purkey of Bean Station; daughter-in-law, Loretta Dixon; brothers, Kennith Cupp of Church Hill, Willie Cupp of Russellville; sisters, Ruth Dodson of Russellville, Dorothy Collins of Rogersville; aunt, Katie Jones of Church Hill; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Ricky Dodson will officiate. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
