Laura Jean Cope

LAURA JEAN COPE, age 81 of Morristown went to be with the Lord and her son Dennie on May 5, 2014 at Laurel Hospital in Laurel, MD. She was preceded in death by son Dennie; her parents, Wiley and Onie Brewer of Sneedville, TN. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Cope of Morristown; two daughters, Brenda Proctor of New Jersey and Regina Snearly and Randy of Laurel, MD; one son, Steve W. Merica and Tina of Morristown; 5 grandchildren, Michele, Christy, Tom, Amy and Joshua; two step-daughters, Jeanie Mullins and Marilyn Turner of Morristown; one step-son, Butch Merica of Atlanta, GA; 5 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her cousin and best friend, Betty Williams, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was loved and cherished and will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. David Alder, Rev. John Dalton and the Rev. Lon Dalton officiating. Entombment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
