Laura Evelyn Stubblefield, age 89, of Whitesburg, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, surrounded by her beloved daughters and family. Laura was born in Hancock County to Clyde and Mary Pearl Greene Jarnigan. Laura was saved at a young age at PawPaw Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Roy G. Stubblefield; sisters: Unave Jarnigan, Bonnie Caldwell and Bessie McGuire; brothers: Bruce and Eugene Jarnigan; son: Billy McDonald; grandchildren: Susan K. Ball, and Donna and her husband, Sherman Scarce.
She is survived by her sister: Helen Dixon of Morristown; daughters: Juanita (Junior) Sexton, Sandra "Porkey" (Gary) Hayes, Donna Sue (John) Bowman, and Lori (Jeffrey) Webb. 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and several other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Amedysis Hospice: Nicole, Leah and special nurse, Sarah.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 1:00 with Rev. Roger Porter and Rev. Terry Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
