

Linda grew up in the Witt community and professed her faith to Christ at an early age. She worked her entire adult life and retired from Enka/Lenzing. Linda loved going to church, spending time with friends, and visiting the Senior Citizen Center of White Pine. She was also a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James H. and Mae Bell Penland; brother: James D. "Jim" Penland and brother-in-law: Charles "Wayne" Wallen.
She is survived by her husband: Christopher Sawyer; beloved twin sister and best friend: Brenda K. Wallen; sister-in-law: Beverly Penland; niece and nephews that she adored: Troy Wallen, Larissa (Shawn) Spoone and Jason (Kristine) Wallen. She is also survived by her great and great great nieces and nephews: Daniel Wallen, Hannah (Lucas) and Lealia Wilcox, Sawyer and Parker Spoone and Kaylee and Jocelyn Wallen.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Morningside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Kenny Boiling officiating.
Family and friends will gather at 11:00 am on Friday, March 6, 2026 in the Witt Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside and interment services.
