He honorably served in the United States Army, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1027 in Hudson, MA, where he served as Commander. He was also a lifetime member of the AmVets. He served as a rural carrier in Stow, MA for many years, retiring from the US Post Office in 2004 and moving to Tennessee.
Luther enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
Luther is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Tekla. Daughters: Melissa (Chris) Harper, Stephanie (Michael) Urbanek and Rebecca (Tony) Carrizales; grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at MountCastle Funeral Home in Woodbridge, VA, January 24th 2025 Visitation to start at 10am Service to follow at 11am with Military graveside services and burial in Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, VA, at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor are requested to be made to the Wreaths Across America Program.
