Margaret Maxine Long, age 79, of Whitesburg, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital after a brief illness. She was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and just a kind friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Greeley Long; sisters, May Matthews, Ann Lawson and Cora Lee Hayes; and parents, Andy and Mary Hayes.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Warner; son, Keith Long; step-son, Frankie Wayne Long; grandchildren, Katie Warner, Brooke (Shane) Cox, Karissa Long, all of Morristown, and Edith Russell of North Carolina; brothers, Joe and Ralph “Buck” Hayes of Russellville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 5 – 7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral services at 7:00 p.m. Rev. James Seals and Rev. Blake Cantwell will officiate. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Saturday, July 1 at 12:45 p.m. for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service.
