

Gail was preceded in death by her father Howard Westhaver, mother, Marjorie “Marge” Westhaver, and sister Barbara West.
Gail worked for the Hamblen County Board of Education for 30 years. Gail battled RA for most of her adult life, but never let it keep her from enjoying the things she loved. She enjoyed watching her grandsons play ball and enjoy her 6 great grandchildren. She loved the Vols and the Lady Vols. Through it all she was always there with a smile on her face. Gail loved her church, First United Methodist of Morristown and especially her Sunday School class, The Friendship Class.
Gail is survived by son: Dan (Maggie) Newman and daughter: Marjie Lee (Mike) Griffith. Her 3 grandsons, Trey (Alisha) Griffith, David (Sammy Jo) Denim, and Daniel (Keysa) Williams. Her 6 great grandchildren: Avery, PJ, Carson, River, Ruby, and Georgia. Nephews: Jeff (Lori) West and Brian West of Vicksburg, MS. The Burrus and West family of Wilmington, NC. She had many friends that were special to her.
The family would like to thank her dear friends for their support during the last days of her life. Also, sincere thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Serenity House for their care and compassion during her final days.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to The Boys and Girls Club of Morristown or Serenity House in Gail’s memory.
Receiving of friends will be Friday, March 13, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stubblefield Funeral Home. A Celebration of Gail's life will follow at 7:00 pm.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 14, 2026 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
