
It is with grieving hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Tyler Hatfield, age 84, of Morristown TN on 7/5/2026. She has won her earthly battle and is now with the Lord. Born in Oak Hill, West Virginia, to the late Alonzo Tyler and Maxine Terry Tyler, she was saved at a young age and her letter of church membership is at Buffalo Trail Baptist Church. She was actively involved throughout the years with several charitable organizations such as the Red Cross and Girl Scouts. Martha will be remembered for her generous heart, quiet strength, and devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Oakie Hatfield, sister Rose Mincey, and son-in-law Ronnie Hollifield. She is survived by her children and their families: daughter Lonetta, son Kevin (Annette) along with Josh (Mekenzie) Waddell with Rhett & Ridge, son Dennis (Vicki) along with Lillii, Isaac Hatfield (Tricia) with Olivia and Chase, Amber Hatfield, Rebekah Daniels (Erika), Jordan Eller, and Grace Maher (Kelly), sister Emily Butler (Bud), sisters-in-law Lillian Dooley (Milton), Mable Collins, and Linda Faye Farmer (Raymond), brother-in-law Joe Lawrence, several nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Norma Carpenter.
Visitation will be 7/8/26 from 6-8 pm at Stubblefield Funeral Home in the Chapel. Following visitation, the funeral service will be at 8 pm with Reverend Bryan Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Hamblen Memory Gardens on 7/9/26 at 10 am assisted by pallbearers Isaac Hatfield, Dennis Hatfield, Tim Case, Mark Wood, Buddy Butler, Gary Collins and Honorary Wayne Woods. The family would like to offer their appreciation to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their compassion during Mom’s last days and to the staff of Pharmacy Express for their decades of incredible kindness and for always taking such good care of Mom over the years.
