Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She faithfully served alongside her husband as a pastor's wife for over 44 years, touching countless lives through her kindness, compassion, unwavering faith, and quiet dedication to her family and church. Her greatest joy was loving and caring for those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Rev. Bobby Helton; her infant daughter, Linda Renee Helton; her parents, Joe and Lizzie Ford; her brothers, J.B. Ford, James Ford, George Ford, and Richard Ford; and her sisters, Bobbie Hartsell and Linda Watts.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter, Tammy (James) Caylor; her granddaughters, Sarah (Seth) Fleshman and Macy (Tanner) Shannon; her treasured great-grandchildren, Palmer and Winnie Fleshman and Tripp Shannon; her sister, Betty Southerland; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holt's Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow. Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Hamblen Memory Gardens at 11:00 am.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice (Emily Daniels) for the compassionate care, kindness, and comfort they provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Holt's Baptist Church in Alice's memory.
