Myanna Zaire Queen

She was a joyous, curious, and adventurous child. She was born in Cairo, Georgia, on November 11, 1997. I knew when I had to lay my kitchen chairs down to keep her from climbing on the counters at age 2; I was in for a ride. She captivated hearts and won people over with her bright smile and caring heart. She never met a stranger and was always kind. Helping others came naturally to her.

Myanna attended church since birth. Throughout her young life, she became a member of The Potter’s House Church in Morristown under the leadership of Bishop Anthony Span. After relocating to Charlotte, she became a member of Trinity Christian Center and continued to grow in the Lord under the leadership of Bishop Keith C. Felton.

Myanna began to flourish while attending both West Elementary and John Hay Elementary Schools, where she played center on the basketball teams. She also played football for the LYFA Falcons. She went on to attend Lincoln Heights Middle School and continued to enjoy playing basketball. She was a member of the 4H Club during her time at Lincoln Heights. While attending middle school, she blossomed and developed her own beautiful personality. She made amazing friends, but the one friend she gravitated to the most was the one she called her brother, Aaron Goodin.

Myanna relocated to Charlotte with her family in 2012. She attended and graduated from Butler High School in Matthews. She only had her sister to cling to in a new school, in a new city, and with no friends. That did not last long! Before I knew it, I had a bunch of bonus kids. But the two she shared the most memories with were her best friends, April “Apes” Koegel and Keith “Mucci” “Biggie” Franklin.

Myanna enjoyed all things, beauty and fashion. She strived to be an MUA. She was passionate about enhancing people's beauty. She had an eye for decorating and putting together an outfit. She enjoyed creating body butters and scrubs. She also enjoyed baking.

One of her greatest and proudest accomplishments was her son, Ziyah. She was an amazing mother. She called him her best friend. She was super proud of how smart, kind, and funny he is. She would have moved heaven and earth for him.

Myanna is preceded in death by Armani Spencer (Ziyah’s Dad), David “Moe” Garrett (Papaw), Mildred “Willie” Garrett (Mamaw), David Dewayne Garrett (Uncle), Elizabeth Garrett (cousin), and Special Cousin Jalen Quinn.

Remaining to cherish her memory: Ziyah M’Kari Garrett- Queen (Son), Stacy Ashley (Mother), Mark Ashley(Dad), Meka Garrett(Sister), Amir and Harmony Rogers(Nephew and Niece), Erin “Bay” Garrett(Aunt), Timothy, Zan, Brooklyn, Caleb Currie(Cousins), Tanisha Garrett(Brandy) (Cousins), Jahan, Tammy, and Takerria Garrett(Cousins) Special Cousins: Brooklyn and Noah Buis, Krystal “Aunt” Sissy Quinn, Megan Lively and Morgan Westmorland, Dale Queen(Father), Tiara Queen(Sister), Sister Friends Alexis Smith, Kyla Heck, and Nadia Reid, Special Love Avontez Perry.

To all the family and friends that I was not able to mention, thank you for loving her.
