Oscar “Jay” O. Hopkins Jr., age 62, of Rogersville, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Julie Hopkins; son, Johnny Hopkins; sister, Polly Jane Hopkins; and brother, Michael Hopkins. Survivors include his sons, Justin Hopkins and wife, Lacey, and Charles Clevenger; sisters, Gerri Reece, Dottie Royston, Sue Seal, Cherell Walker, and Phyllis McDaniel; and several other family and friends. Family and friends will gather at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Stubblefield Funeral Home for a 7:00 p.m. memorial service. VFW Post #5266 will provide military honors. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
