

Ova Lee Burke Turner, age 85, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at MHHS. She was born November 29, 1927. She was a member of Briar Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Creed Turner; parents, James Harrison and Bobbie Givens Burke; brothers, Ernest, J. H., and Jimmy Burke; and sisters, Mae Moles, Martha Ferguson, Mildred Brewer, Tina Lamb, and Dorothy Ferguson. She is survived by her sons, Jesse H. (Barbara) Turner of Jonesborough and Kenneth A. (Joyce) Turner of Morristown; grandsons, Andrew (Beki) Turner of Morristown, Brian (Christian) Turner and Robbie Turner of Johnson City; great-grandson, Donovan Long of Morristown; sister, Alpha Burke of Sneedville; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks to Regency Retirement Village for their kindness and loving care. We also want to thank Dr. Frederick Yarid and his staff for their kindness. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Ellison officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
