

Ray Lee Lawson, age 77, of Bean Station, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years of service, and served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Lawson attended Bean Station Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Margaret Lawson; his first wife, Agnes Ruth Lawson; and brothers, Darrell, Roy, and Roger Lawson.
Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Helen Marie Lawson; sons, Maxwell Lawson (Nanci), of Bean Station, Gregory Lawson (Darlene) of Amherst, Ohio; daughter, Gwendolyn Crews (Randy) of Berlin Heights, OH; step-children, Martin Short (Janice) of Bean Station, Gregory Short (Tanya) of Bean Station; grandchildren, Cory (Nikki), Kurtis, Nicolas (Missy), Nathan, Summer, Raphe, and Stacy Lawson, Lisa Jordan, Linsey Crews, Lydia Crews, Lacie Crews; great-grandchildren, Anthony Chapman, Abby Lawson, Connor Slagle, Karlye Lawson, Ava Lawson, Nora Lawson, and Courtney and Haley; sisters, Lorraine Alford of West Virginia, and Maxine Perry of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Troy Lawson, of Huntington W.Va., and Larry Lawson, of Lyburn W Va. and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 from the Stubblefield Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 7PM with the Rev. Franklin Allen and Rev. Brice Justice officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:45 AM Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 in the Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 AM committal service. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 5266. Pallbearers will be Nicolas, Nathan, Cory, Kurtis and Raphe Lawson and Matthew Short.
