

Junior was ordained into the ministry at Macedonia Baptist Church and was a member of Holt's Baptist Church after his retirement from the ministry. He pastored several churches in the Lakeway area: Statem Gap, Roe Junction, Cedar Creek, and Kidwell Ridge in Morristown; Buffalo Grove and Omega in Jefferson County; Point Pleasant in Cocke County and McCloud and Morrisett's Chapel in Hawkins County. He shared his love for God with people until God took him home. He was also retired from American Enka after 40 years of service.
Junior was preceded in death by his loving wife, Imogene, with whom they shared 61 years together. Parents: Robert and Mary Hopkins; brothers: John and William "Bill" Hopkins and 2 great great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law: Phyllis and Charles Seal; granddaughter: Connie Davis; great granddaughters: Amber Urbanowski and Aryan Dye. Four great great granddaughters: Johannah, Cece, Elsie and Kyrah, who were the joy of his life, with one more on the way. Sisters: Blanche (Ed) Murray and Midge England. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Alan Lamb and Rev. Dr. Todd Stinnett officiating.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026 in Hamblen Memory Gardens, Rev. Ray Smith officiating.
