

Roy "Dean" Greene age 85, of Morristown, passed away peacefully late Wednesday night, Nov. 19, 2025 after an extended battle with dementia. He was born and raised in Hancock county but settled in Morristown to raise his family. He was a longtime employee of AT&T and a volunteer at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital for many years. He was saved at a young age at Duck Creek Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of Rocky Summit Baptist Church, where over the years, he served in many roles: deacon, Sunday school teacher, clerk and song leader. He had a true servant's heart and was a fine christian example to all who knew him. Special thanks to Heritage Center and Caris Hospice for their kind care.
Dean is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Ann Greene; parents: Sampson and Hester Greene and sister: Lois Carson.
He is survived by daughters: Tammy (Tony) Harris of Morristown, Robin (Tom) Carpenter of Piney Flats, son: Kevin (LaTasha) Greene of Morristown. Grandsons: Bradley (Kristen) Harris of Ooltewah, Westley (Chelsea) Harris of Bean Station, Jacob (Ryleigh) Greene of Morristown. Granddaughters: Alli Parker of Morristown and Lauren (Kaleb) Stone of Piney Flats. Great grandchildren: Brody and Kennedy Harris, Claire and Grant Harris, Ellis Parker, Anderson and Chapel Stone. Brother: JC (Judy) Greene of Bean Station; sister: Juanita (Ray) Seal of Morristown and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Stubblefield Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be at Rocky Summit Baptist Church on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Graveside and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
