

Rufus was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dianna L. Johnson on February 20,1975. Together they built a life centered around family, love, and countless memories.
Rufus worked in upholstery and retired from Futuristics'. He was well known for his exceptional mechanical and auto restoration skills. He had a true passion for fast engines. Whether working with his hands, restoring a vehicle, or simply sharing time with the people he loved, Rufus found joy in the things that made life meaningful.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. His family was an important part of his life. His memory will live on through the generations he leaves behind.
Rufus was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dianna L. Johnson, his parents John and Virgie Johnson, brothers John and Jimmy Johnson, sisters Pauline Seals, Kathline Gulley and son Scott Hayes.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Johnson, Greg Lynn Hayes, and daughter Lora Bradley (Travis Price); his grandchildren, Chance Purkey, TJ Baxley, Zach Bradley, Chloe Bradley, Gregory Johnson, Derric Hayes, Madison Hayes, Brandon Hayes, Jordan Hayes, Amber Heck, and Arianna Hayes; 10 great grandchildren, and other family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
The family extends a heartfelt special thank you to Annette, Traci, and Becky with Gentiva Hospice for the compassion, kindness, and support they provided to Rufus and his family.
Per Rufus' wishes, no formal services are scheduled. Friends and family are welcome to visit the home and spend time together sharing memories of a life well lived.
In honor of Rufus, share a cup of coffee with a friend or loved one and take a moment to remember the stories, laughter, and simple moments that make life special.
Rufus will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
