Shiela Haag Johnston, age 63, of Morristown, was lovingly taken into Christ’s hands after a long courageous 2 ½ year battle with cancer. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. She gave of herself to First United Methodist Church, Rose Service Guild, Daily Bread, Angel Food Ministry, Pilot Club and countless individuals. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arther and Myrl Haag.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Johnston, daughter, Heather and husband Paris Clabough; son, Kevin and wife Angie Johnston; grandchildren, Nathan and Abby Clabough, Joshua, Christabelle and Gabrielle Johnston; sisters Shirley and husband Bill Paris and Sharon Haag; nieces and nephews, Amy Chavez, Michael Paris, Kristen Stiegler, Ariane Stiegler and Micah Stiegler.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, May 14, 2010, at 7:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Chuck Starks and Rev. Ellen Fisher will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holston United Methodist Home for Children, P.O. Box 188, Greeneville, TN. 37744 or the Susan B. Kornen Foundation.
