Shirley had been the owner and operator of A Better Choice Tire Stores in Morristown and Jefferson City for over 25 years. She previously worked at American Enka/BASF for 32 years.
She was preceded in death by husband of 45 years, Earl William Cates; parents, Thomas (Delmas) and Frances Turner; and son, Brian Roach.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Marty) Sandefur and son, Stacy (Melissa) Roach; Grandchildren: Ashley (Jesse) Piburn, Zachary Roach, Kynzie (Clint) Stephens, Ty (Tara) Sandefur and Steven (Abigail) McWain; Great grandchildren: Georgia and Emma Piburn, Silas Sandefur, Evie, Rowan and Piper Stephens and Evelyn and Weston McWain. Sister in Law, Flora Mae Dills, several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank nurse’s: Shelly, Julie, Seth; nurse aid, Jayden; Drs. Crawford and Dr. Zac of Covenant Hospital; RN Cyndee and all from Covenant Hospice.
