Shirley Russell, age 70, of Bean Station, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at her home. She was a member of Barnard’s Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Flara Gilliam; six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Carl Russell; children, Beatrice Lawson and Phillip Lawson; sister, Flara Richards; grandchildren, Amanda Lawson, Erika Lawson, Jessica Stanley, and Craig Lawson; great-grandchildren, Jordan Holt, Josh Delp, Mahkia Montgomery, and Reagan Lawson; special friends, Pat and Cecil Ward; and several other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Barnard’s Grove Baptist Church on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. with Rev Jeffrey Sinnamon officiating. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening prior to the services at the church. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
