Shirley Jean Long Scarce, age 81, of Morristown, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at her home. She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Sherman and Donna Scarce; parents, Raymond and Eva Long; and brothers, William Long and Paul Long.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Marshall Scarce; grandchildren, Elijah Scarce and Samantha Scarce; sister-in-law, Lily Parker; and close friends, Gary and Sandra Hayes.
Family and friends will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday in Bethel Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. Chaplain Evelyn McNamara will officiate. The family requests everyone to wear a mask and social distance.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice for the three wonderful years of care they provided.
