With a heavy heart, I am sharing the going home of a truly great woman, known as Mom, Schmelda, Swannie, Sue, and SueAnn Yoder. As a much loved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, she will always be missed.
She was born in Indianapolis, IN, and moved to Bloomington, IN, after graduating high school, where she married and had started her own family. As child of Jesus, she was baptized and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Continuing her journey, she moved to Charlotte, NC in the spring of 1985 with her daughter, Stephanie. She was a truly gifted crafter, including making beautiful counted cross stitch, dolls, and for over 15 years, amazing quilts. With a contagious laugh, a radiant smile and a kind word she brought smiles to so many, friends and strangers alike. She will truly be missed. Heart broken and with many tears, we say “I love you”, “Goodbye for now” and “We will see you again.”
She was preceded by her father, Von Scherb; mother, Marthadeane Ward; step-father, Hartwell Ward; and brother, Robert Scherb.
Leaving behind her daughters, Stephanie (Larry) Stidd, Christine Boone, Katherine Baert (Perry); little sister, Carolyn (Frank) Whiteside; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home, Morristown, TN
