He was preceded in death by his parents: Alton B. Jones and Mary Maude Tate Jones; sister: Carol Dean Vaughn of Michigan; brothers: Max Elmer Jones and Alton B. Jones, Jr., of Morristown; George Henry Jones, Lyle Ray Jones and Paul Douglas Jones all of Bean Station.
He is survived by one sister: Belva Jean "Cookie" Jones.
Tex served in the US Navy from 1961 until 1966 as a Boiler Tender E5. He was the most generous, caring and loving person ever known. He was always ready to help people in need and never met a stranger. he also had many good friends and loved ones and one special, caring, loving, wonderful caregiver and friend: Bettie Wright.
Tex enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and friends. He retired from International Paper Company after 37 years of service there.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Scott Howerton and Rev. Tim Collins officiating. Military graveside services in Hamblen Memory Gardens immediately after the funeral.
