Vivian (Owens) Greene

Vivian Owens Greene, age 82, of White Pine, TN, decided she finally had enough of us and went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 11, 2026. She was born on September 29, 1943, in Fall Creek, Wilkes County, NC, to Herbert “Hub” Owens and Edith Waters Owens.

Vivian was a firecracker. Witty, funny, strong-willed, and fiercely devoted to her family. Known as Mamaw to some, Gigi to others, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her life. She loved them without limits, protected them without hesitation, and was the center of the world they all revolved around. She was a member of White Pine Free Will Baptist Church.

Vivian is survived by her husband of 64 years, William Lonnie Greene, Sr., of White Pine, TN; her sons, William Greene, Jr. (Sarah), of Cooper Landing, AK, and Tim Greene (Kasandra), of Shelbyville, TN; her late daughter Yvonne’s husband, Lance Brown, of Clermont, FL; sisters Sandy Melaga, of Clemmons, NC; Sharon Grider, of Millers Creek, NC. Brothers; Danny Ray Owens, of Morristown, TN; Joe Owens of Winston-Salem, NC.

She is also survived by the families of her children: Alexys Brown, of Clermont, FL; Halley Katsch-Williams Brown (Nick), of Long Island, NY; Ashley Greene (Matthew Jones), with Lakely & Ronix, of Bean Station, TN; Jamie Greene (fiancé Austin), with Olivia, of Morristown, TN; William Greene III, of Morristown, TN; Randall Greene & son Elliott, of White Pine, TN; Natalie Greene, of White Pine, TN; Linda Shaver (Dillon), Allie, of White Pine, TN; Elena, of Germany; Nathan & Caylie, of Cooper Landing, AK; Chase Greene (Mariajose), with Isla & Asher, of Shelbyville, TN, and Chris Greene (Jennifer), with Vivianne & Murphy, of Apalachicola, FL.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; ten siblings; her daughter, Yvonne Brown; and her son, N. Randall Greene.

She leaves behind generations who always knew they were loved, protected, and never too far from home.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Leadvale Baptist Church, 874 Leadvale Church Rd, White Pine, from 11: 00 am until 12:00 noon with funeral services to follow at 12. Interment immediately afterwards at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
